Growing up in Denver, Colorado, Alexis’s past experience in journalism contributes to the lawyering skills she obtained at Seattle University School of Law. Alexis has been with the Law Center team since March of 2014. Currently, Ms. DeLaCruz is the Law Center’s lead counsel in the landmark federal case Stephen C. vs. BIE, a historic civil rights case advancing the educational rights of Havasupai children; she acts as a Guardian ad litem, and a Youth Attorney. She responds to allegations of abuse and neglect and addresses concerns in educational settings. Alexis’s paternal side of her family has ties to Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico, and her maternal side to Oklahoma.
