Hoskie Benally

Community and Government Liaison


Diné, is originally from Bitl’áá bitó (Beclabito), New Mexico. He is Ashįįhí (Salt Clan), born for Oozéí Táchii’nii (The Hopi People Division of the Red Running Into the Water Clan), and his maternal and paternal grandparents are Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms People Clan). 

As the Law Center’s Community and Government Liaison Mr. Benally’s role involves connecting to various regional communities, other agencies, resources, and tribal governments. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University. Prior to joining the Law Center, Mr. Benally was the director of a youth treatment center that successfully integrated Navajo culture into western based mental health treatment. He has worked with the Law Center for over fourteen years. Since 2009, Mr. Benally has served on the Navajo Nation Advisory Council on Disabilities. Grounded in Navajo tradition and fluent in Navajo, Mr. Benally is an experienced cultural instructor.
